#1 Learn handheld power tools

In the first class you will learn how to properly and safely use handheld power tools. Even if you have some

experience with tools you may be surprised at how much more you can learn.

Power tools are wonderful machines to work with and will help make your own ideas and wishes come true. You just need the knowledge and safety procedures.

The tools we will cover: Electric drill, Drill bits and when to use what, Jigsaw, Dremel, multi tool and various sanders

#2 Learn how to use the planer and jointer (and prep raw and re-used materials)

In this workshop we will learn how to properly and safely use planers and jointers to prepare raw or re-used materials for building projects with. The tools we will cover:  Hand held planer, planer, jointer and thickness planer, various sanders and when to use what. Even if you have some experience with tools you may be surprised at what more you can learn. Power tools are wonderful machines to work with and will help make your own ideas and wishes come true. You just need the knowledge and safety procedures.

#3 Learn the cross cut saw and make a simple box

In this workshop we will learn how to properly and safely use the cross cut saw to build simple boxes. Boxes are the foundation for most building projects and easily up scaled for larger projects. The tools we will cover:  The cross cut saw and  various methods and building procedures.  Even if you have some experience with tools you may be surprised at what more you can learn. Power tools are wonderful machines to work with and will help make your own ideas and wishes come true. You just need the knowledge and safety procedures.

General information

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

The course is suitable for both people with little or no experience.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The starting point in all our courses is folk education pedagogy. In short, it is based on a dialogue

between leaders and participants.

We meet 1 time for 3 hours.

The first 2 hours will consist of a basic lecture on safety and procedures. The last hour you will continue to practice what you have learned under supervision and guidance.

The teaching is adapted to your and the other participants needs, interests and general background

so that the course provides as much benefit as possible.

MATERIALS

The class will emphasize material re use and you will have access to many saved building materials

to practice and build with.
